Slane History & Archaeology Society hosts the John Cassidy Exhibition [sculptor/artist] on 12,13, and 14th July in the Conyngham Arms Hotel, Slane. The official opening by Dr Paula Murphy will take place on Fri.12th July at 8pm. Dr Murphy is a senior lecturer in Art History at UCD. She is a leading expert on Irish sculpture and has published widely on the subject.
Charlie Hulme, formerly of John Rylands Library,Manchester, will give an illustrated talk on Cassidy. Charlie, who has researched this sculptor/artist’s life for many years published his findings recently.
The Exhibition is open on Sat.13th and Sun. 14th from 10am-8pm.
