On Saturday last, 26th May, fifty one members and friends of Slane History & Archaeology Society paid a visit to the Titanic Centre and City Hall in Belfast. After re-living the hustle and bustle of the busy shipyard where the Titanic was built, the opulence and luxury of first- class passenger accommodation and then the awful tragic end for 1,512 people, the group paid a visit to the very imposing building of City Hall where they enjoyed a conducted tour. Above some of the group are pictured in front of the magnificent grand staircase made from Carrara, Pavonazzo and Brescia marbles.
